Unite is the digital cross-platform system of the German company Beyerdynamic. It is described as "the Swiss army knife of digital communication" and promises to solve the needs of audiovisual production.
Composed of 5 items, plus their corresponding accessories, it allows various combinations that respond to different needs such as wireless microphones, simultaneous interpretation, hearing assistance, guided tours or intercom functions.
About Unite
Basic components
The unit that unites all the operations is the Unite AP4 access point, a multifunctional device that can receive up to 4 microphones with audio signal in an analog and digital way, or for needs where mobility is fundamental, through the Unite RP receiver. To this are added the individual devices that function as transmitters or receivers, depending on the application and the corresponding configuration, through the Unite Manager software.
In the receivers we have the Unite RP and the Unite RP-T, where the latter in addition to allowing direct listening gives Talkback options, for its integrated microphone, both have DSP functions such as ALC, Noise Gate, noise cancellation, equalizer, attenuator and compressor (for headphone mode), as well as connectable inductive loop, for people with hearing problems.
Finally, there is the Unite TH which is a condenser microphone with low feedback cardioid feature, attenuator and compressor, as well as sound adjustment via Bluetooth or USB.
Unite Features
Among its most important features is the functional one in the 1.9 GHz DECT band, which makes it practically invulnerable to radio frequency interference; two-way communication where participants can listen and talk if desired, with up to 3 people talking at the same time; ability to operate up to 32 channels simultaneously; 300 meters range with direct line of sight; a maximum of 18 hours of rechargeable battery in continuous use; AES-256 digital encryption to ensure signal security and prevent unauthorized eavesdropping; and, finally, a USB interface built into portable devices that allows the injection and extraction of digital audio, for use with platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet, among others.
