The emblematic cultural venue of Cáceres implements a line array sound system of constant curvature based on the Vantec DAS Series.
The Gran Teatro is one of the great cultural axes of the city of Cáceres since it opened its doors in 1926.
With a program that offers a wide theatrical offer, as well as a variety of musical and cultural shows, the theater is a must-see place for the performing arts companies and musical artists of the country.
In order to ensure that the place continues to operate with first-line equipment, the owners of the theater hired the Extremadura sound company Servicios Audiovisuales de Extremadura (SAVEX) to install a completely new sound system. After analyzing the venue and its needs, experts recommended the use of DAS Vantec 20A constant curvature line array systems to provide uniform sound coverage in shallow enclosures that have audiences sitting at different heights.
The main configuration features 10 units extracted from the Vantec 20A System catalog, divided into two sets of 5 units on each side of the stage. Two Vantec 218A subwoofer systems were deployed to give a boost to low frequencies and were installed in the center in front of the stage. Two additional Vantec 20A systems were used as front filler for the front rows of the audience.
The system also includes a DSP-4080A DAS digital signal processor that controls and adjusts the signals of all equipment in the system. All the systems installed in the Gran Teatro de Cáceres are self-powered, which speeds up both the installation and the operation of the system.
This updated system means that the theater's approximately 600 spectators can enjoy impeccable sound in any seat of the house during recent performances by artists such as La Mala Rodríguez and Mocedades. The venue has also hosted the awards ceremony of the Cáceres Spanish Film Festival and the Book Day Reading Marathon, as well as several performances that were part of the Cáceres Classical Theatre Festival.
