Our favorite provider beyerdynamic shared some fun facts about the brand. This time, beyond knowing a product, we want you to get closer to this brand.

After almost 100 years of existence in the market and with a very large catalog of premium microphones and headphones manufactured in Heilbronn (Germany), beyerdynamic cannot be without curiosities and interesting facts that will surely be in your mind the next time you enjoy its incredible sound. Do you want to know them? Read on and have fun with these fun facts from beyer!
Four times thinner than a human hair!
Hearing aids use diaphragms that allow air molecules to vibrate to create sound waves. These diaphragms, located in the transducer, are excited by an electromagnet, and the most important factor in it is the copper coil that connects to the diaphragm.
Did you know that the coil in some of our DT PRO series hearing aids is made of a wire that is four times thinner than a human hair? The lighter the coil, the thinner the wire, which will deliver the clearest and most accurate sound in the transducer, which is an unmistakable feature of beyerdynamic hearing aids!
From Hamburg to Mexico City!
As already mentioned, the coils of a hearing aid are made of copper. Would you have imagined that every year beyerdynamic uses 6,200 km of wire, which is a sufficient length to connect the cities of Hamburg with CDMX? Imagine if you could travel around!
The longest-lived product... and we are still dreaming!
Did you imagine that the product that has been in the beyerdynamic catalog the longest is the M 130 slat microphone? It was released in 1952 and has stood the test of time, having undergone only a few minor changes since then, making it a truly unique and must-have piece in the history of music.
There has only been one product in the company's history that has lasted longer in the catalog: the DT 48 hearing aids, now discontinued, but which were in force from 1936 to 2012, for an impressive 76 years! Come on, M 130, you can do it too!
Lighter than a peppercorn!
The core of any headphone is the driver installed inside the headphones, so the fact that such impressive sound can come out of such a confined space never ceases to amaze. Incredibly, the coils used in 32 and 600 ohm impedance hearing aids (such as the DT 770 PRO and DT 990 Edition, respectively), weigh only 20 mg.
Furthermore, the total weight of the entire system, consisting of the coil, its fasteners and the entire diaphragm, weighs 120 mg. A bumblebee weighs 10 times as much – and you can count on your hearing aids to be pollen-free!
