UNILUMIN and its legacy in Control Rooms

Unilumin's trajectory towards led the LED display market is not something new or sudden. Unilumin was founded in 2004 with the vision of positioning itself as a global leader in display and LED lighting solutions, and its main values being altruism, integrity, innovation and entrepreneurship. Then in 2008 Unilumin entered the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.

In 2012 Unilumin launched the first LED solution for control rooms, and the first 0.8mm pixel-pitch direct vision LED display solution on the market. Also in this same year began the unilumin day in the control rooms market, carrying out 6 control rooms with direct vision LED technology

In the following years the volume of projects in control rooms with Unilumin LED Displays was growing proportionally, along with new technologies for that market vertical. To date there are more than 500 Control rooms that go hand in hand with the cutting-edge technology of Unilumin fine pixel-pitch LED Displays.  In the last 2 years alone, more than 200 control rooms were implemented with such technology.

As technology advances exponentially, it also becomes more affordable. In 2018 Unilumin launched the first mass-produced MiniLED 0.9mm technology solution on the market, and today it has in its portfolio solutions from pixel-pitch 0.5mm that reach contrast ratios of 20,000:1 and color spectrum superior to the DCI-P3.

In 2020, during the ISE (Integrated Systems Europe) Unilumin presented what to date is the control room of direct vision LED technology of higher resolution. 132.7 million pixels, equivalent to 120m² (661" diagonal) in pixel-pitch 0.9mm. Among its features are also highlighted the redundancy of data and power without cables, and intelligent maintenance without the use of tools, fundamental elements for mission-critical operations, as is also the case of the Air Control Center of the International Airport of Mexico City, which just over a year ago today has 40m² of pixel-pitch 1.2mm to monitor and control more than 100 deployments and landings daily.

Despite its prominence in emblematic projects, the technology of direct vision LED displays is also ideal for projects of smaller magnitude, adapting to the tightest budgets, given its modularity and high cost-efficiency. The latter without sinning due to the characteristics of this technology, such as the total absence of bezels, uniformity of color and brightness, useful life of more than 10 years in 24/7 operation, viewing angles of 140º or more, protection against blue light radiation, and its very high reliability (minimum downtime). In 2020 smaller-scale projects, such as the Incident Management Center of the Panama Canal Authority, and Enel-Emgesa in Colombia were equipped with 14.6m² of UpanelS 1.2, and 2 x screens of 3m² of UpanelII 1.5, respectively.

Unilumin today has the broadest portfolio of solutions for control rooms, covering the demand for projects in any segment, such as military, mission critical, broadcast, utilities, government, or security, regardless of the size and budget of this.
