iPac LPR CCTV cameras for license plate recognition

Bolide Technology Group has launched new cameras focused on license plate recognition, the iPac series, two 5MP and 8MP devices, promise the highest resolution and 4K images respectively.

The main characteristics of Bolide LPR cameras is that they allow to register the license plates of the vehicles that can be consulted through software. This allows you to keep track of vehicles with time, videos and photos, easily accessible. In addition, it is possible to upload a license plate list, or even a complete license plate database, through a CSV file.

Such cameras can activate the built-in relay output depending on the license plate, managing the "blacklist" and the "whitelist", so that it allows or restricts the access of vehicles. Also, this function can be used to open a barrier or an automatic door. It is a convenient access control solution for businesses and residential areas, among others, that does not require traditional cards or keys.

In general, LPR cameras are also a tool for gathering evidence. They provide law enforcement departments with clear, specific, and indisputable video footage to investigate crimes.

License plate recognition
Also known as License Plate Recognition (LPR), it is a technology capable of recognizing and reading vehicle license plates through the optical inspection of characters in images or videos. In that sense, LPR cameras convert optical data into digital information in real time. The results can be sent to external systems, as well as stored in a database.

This LPR system is usually used with infrared lighting to allow the camera to take pictures in any light condition without disturbing the drivers, thus being as discreet as possible. It can cover a wide range of applications, such as:

• Speed control
• Traffic light compliance
• Traffic monitoring
• Vehicle tracking
• Compliance with bus lanes
• Access control
• Parking management
• Mobile patrol
• Tolls
