DAS Audio, ConsorcioTec's preferred supplier, was the brand chosen to install the sound systems in the new Amman Academy theater. Their solution ensures comprehensive sound in this 437-seat event space and multipurpose meeting room.
It is noteworthy that the company International New Technical Est (INTE) in charge of the installation, is a system integrator specialized in theatrical installations, which was hired to make the vision of the academy located in Jordan a reality.
This study center has been recognized as a prestigious school for more than 30 years, so this project had an ambitious vision from the beginning, since the space of the is a new building that was built as part of the expansion of the offer for students and also as a commercial use.
Specific needs
The Amman Academy required a versatile, world-class theatre, equipped with the latest audiovisual technology and the best lighting, as its aim was to create a space that could immerse the audience in any type of play and, above all, that could be adapted to the different needs of each show.
In addition, a multipurpose space was needed that could be used by staff and visitors for meetings or as a rest area. For all these reasons, the choice of sound systems was important.
It also highlighted the need for sound quality, while the chosen systems should meet characteristics of versatility and ease of use.
The theatre
The main sound system at the Amman Academy Theatre is made up of four Aero-20A and Aero-20 12A, as well as four Artec 5-8A speakers as frontfil. The system is supported by four LX-118A line array subwoofers and 12- and 15-inch Road speakers.
"The distribution of sound is surprising, as the difference between the first and last row is less than 3dB: the human ear cannot even detect this difference. The sound is exceptionally clear and for a theatre that hosts performances or musicians, this is one of the most important things. DASAim technology has been used to optimize SPL distribution, tonality and frequency response throughout the audience area. The audio is distributed over Cat7 cable and is managed by DASNet software and DSP 2060 A."
Álvaro Plumed, an engineer at DAS Audio, was in charge of the design and optimization of the sound system of the Amman Academy Theater, achieving a surprising result.
Multipurpose Room
Next to the theatre is the Amman Academy's multi-purpose hall, designed for the theatre team to hold meetings of up to 75 people. In this, eight CL6T loudspeakers and two ARTEC 315.96 loudspeakers were installed on the ceiling and wall, supported by PA1500 and PA900 amplifiers. INTE was able to carry out the project with a high level of quality, providing the academy with a sound installation that is reliable, durable and offers the best sound quality imaginable in such a space.
