Distributed audio implemented in new hotel in the Dominican Republic

In La Caleta sector, in the city of La Romana, the first hotel of the Hilton Garden Inn chain built in the area opened its doors.

The new hotel has 130 rooms with views of Catalina Island and the Caribbean Sea, a pool and a flexible meeting space with an outdoor terrace.

In the new building, the owners wanted to have distributed audio, sound reinforcement and public address. To this end, they appointed Symantel, a Dominican company specialized in automation and implementation of networks, electricity, and electronic security, as the project integrator. In turn, Musitempo supported Symantel in consulting, design, programming, advice, and was the provider of the solutions and detection system for crisis management.

Fernando Hernández Voigt, Musitempo project director, commented on the details and challenges of the project. “I would say that factors such as the joint work we did with Symantel, being integrators with great experience, with many large projects in the Republic, in addition to their proven track record in the implementation of technology items, from networks, security, detection and AV, were the decisive factors that guaranteed the proper execution of this project”, he noted.

Installed Technology
Being a completely new building, the AV systems were designed from scratch to take advantage of the space.

“Musitempo specified Atlas IED's Atmosphere series DSP systems. Through the logical ports we integrate the detection system in order to comply with global standards for crisis management. These systems were combined with the LEA Professional Connect Series of Amplifiers,” Hernández described.

Likewise, in the project Atlas speakers were installed on ceilings, walls and mushroom type, while speakers from the Rocoustics Periscape series were used for the green areas and gardens. The entire system is complemented by the Vantage control and lighting control system. Thus, the integration of AV systems was achieved under network protocols, which facilitates use for operators.

“The sound quality and ease of use have been the most beneficial points for the client, not least the advantage of remote supervision of the LEA Professional Connect Series amplification systems, which have been a great support and adjustment tool. during the start of operations of the hotel,” Hernández pointed out.

Other spaces intervened with audiovisual solutions were the meeting rooms, where sound reinforcement technologies for users and room combine are integrated, and the gym area, which can be managed independently.

Results obtained
The manager highlighted that the feedback from the end user has been very satisfactory, stating that they enjoy the installed technologies and maintain their environments in the desired way, while having resources to face any situation and safeguard physical integrity. of its guests and collaborators.

“If we have learned anything during our more than 25 years in this wonderful industry, it is that the best businesses are done with those who work under the same values and principles as one. With Atlas IED and LEA Professional we have a close relationship based on trust and respect. Both brands managed the equipment availability crisis experienced from 2020 to date very effectively,” concluded Hernández Voigt.
