During 2024, the Colombian audiovisual market has faced challenges that have decreased the dynamism of negotiations compared to previous years, says Juan Fernando Montoya, CEO of Ambientes Inteligentes.

In this regard, the businessman specifies that despite the high number of designs and budgets presented, the closing of businesses has been slower than expected, affected in part by economic and political instability.
Juan Fernando Montoya points out that the segments that lead the demand for AV technology in the region are corporate, entertainment and government. Recent examples of outstanding projects include the implementation of audiovisual systems in the Metropolitan Cathedral of Medellín, the Medellín Metro System, MTS auditoriums and the Dirty Rabbit nightclub.
Similarly, it adds that the expectation is that the economic and political uncertainty facing Colombia poses challenges that could affect the normal development of business.
In terms of sustainability, Montoya highlights that in Smart Environments they are working with suppliers and manufacturers who are also interested in and support this type of initiative.
"Internally, in the use of resources we are very insistent and we maintain constant training for our staff, in addition to campaigns through our internal media. We are sure that these small individual actions in energy and water savings, as well as the proper disposal of waste are the tangible and initial points of a truly more sustainable world," he explains.
And he concludes that "without these bases where everyone contributes, the savings of the company as a whole are not as efficient. Now, we also support working from home for staff who can do it due to their work and we have very appropriate communication software so that this is enhanced, as well as reservation systems."
